CSX Carolina Connector Intermodal project highlighted by Railway Track and Structures (RT&S) as a 2022 RT&S Top Project

EMH&T’s design for the CSX Carolina Connector Intermodal project in Rocky Mount, NC, was highlighted by Railway Track and Structures (RT&S) as a 2022 RT&S Top Project in their June 2022 issue.

This project included three widespan gantry cranes, which were constructed on a tie and ballast system. This is only CSX’s second facility to utilize this system, with the first being in Fairburn, Georgia, also designed by EMH&T. Our team provided comprehensive engineering services that included surveying, environmental permitting assistance, stormwater management, roadway design, site and track design, crane rail design, architectural coordination, and construction support.
