I-270 Widening, ODOT District 6

EMH&T led the effort to widen I-270 on the northwest side of Columbus, Ohio. Our team found solutions to improve an eight-mile stretch of severe congestion to this corridor during peak travel times. Design solutions included closing the median with barrier on this stretch of highway, and adding an additional lane in each direction. The project included the widening of three mainline bridges, full depth pavement repairs, noise wall design, continuous highway lighting, upgraded signing, and ITS facilities along the corridor.
