Summary

EMH&T is currently seeking an evolving CAD Technician to join our dynamic Structures team within our Transportation Planning and Design division and play a key role in the design and development of various projects. The CAD Technician will collaborate closely with other team members and will play a crucial role creating detailed and accurate technical drawings and plans in the product development process using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. Your work will be instrumental in turning concepts into tangible designs and will contribute to the successful completion of our projects. The CAD Technician will be under the mentorship of a seasoned Designer, Engineer or Project Manager and will draft engineering design components related to structural/bridge details including plan, elevation, structural steel, reinforced concrete, and foundation elements; work will include plan development associated with basemaps and detail changes for structural components, making "redlined" corrections, drawing setups, and development of exhibits. You will develop quantity calculations and reinforce concrete bar layout and tables under the direction of an Engineer; corrections to work products are reviewed; and you will finish and duplicate drawings, according to required mediums and specifications for reproduction. Our CAD Technicians are trained to follow specified EMH&T drafting standards or other required standards as directed by your manager, e.g. ODOT standards.

Qualifications

Qualifications include an Associate's degree or some specialized training or experience with one or more CAD platforms such as AutoCAD or Microstation/ORD; knowledge of basic math (geometry) involved in the production and use of drawings or models, including use and calculations in Microsoft Excel; and up to four (4) years of drafting activities is preferred.
