COLLEGE INTERNSHIP - CONSTRUCTION SERVICES

Summary

EMH&T is currently looking for talented students to fill paid internship positions in our Construction Services Division. An internship at EMH&T is designed to provide our interns with hands on project experience in a mentorship environment. Upon joining our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a Senior Resident Project Representative (RPR), assisting them with monitoring the work of contractors to ensure quality control and contract compliance for public capital improvement projects. You will assist the Senior RPR as they oversee, observe and monitor contractual field work which includes excavations, drainage facilities, road surfaces, water line installation and sanitary sewer piping and structures; schedule work inspection phases with contractor and agency personnel. You will also learn the nuances of maintaining project records, which includes daily logs, materials notebooks, photos, project record plans and/or pay quantity records.

Qualifications

Students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Services Management, Civil Engineering or related degree program; and must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word.

Must have own transportation to project sites.

Physical Demands

Ability to work out doors all year in all types of weather conditions and be exposed to dust and allergens during the workday.

Ability to walk and stand for the majority of the workday.

Must be able to travel to various project sites in the state of Ohio. Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.

Our student interns receive paid holiday time off and 10 hours of paid Community Service time off.
